Streamyx migration -just when you need them most!

When the going ons in national politics get heated up the vital connection to get updates from the nation capital ie the internet is giving trouble. I have been experiencing trouble to keep the connection steady for the whole of last week -so finally I called a friend's computer shop to see if my modem is screwed up. I was told that I better complain to the help line. So I did-and the assistant on the other side want me to go through the trouble shooting routine of disconnecting the fax/phones sharing the phone line etc. I told her that it is strange that both my home and office line experience the problems simultaneously. And it is not a total disconnection -but on-off-on-off fickleness that gets on your nerve. After I complained about the senseless routine she agreed to file a report and gave me a report number.

The next day a familiar Telekom guy came. He used his own computer and modem to test the line. When he encountered the same problems with his unblemished tools he disclosed that the migration of  internet lines to  Putrajaya  from KL caused the problem. All users in Penang suffer from it as well. It will take another week before the situation will return to normal. Now the truth is out: why didn't they come clean on it? When I called the help lines there are always all kind of announcements about service conditions-yet they miss out the big one hitting Penang. Why? Are they going to discount the 1-2 weeks of unsatisfactory service to the subscribers-afterall we pay the Telekom by the days?

So I should put my paranoia to rest -they are not disturbing the internet to shut up internet and the vital info link to the world wide web -they are just exposing their incompetence to the whole world. They are going out of the way to substatiate Sharir Samad's contention that that BN government is not competent enough to hatch any conspiracy against anyone. Certainly not the country's millions of internet users. So : minimsie your internet use when its service is confirmed to be slow and unsteady.YOU ARE WARNED-even if Streamyx doesn't announced it in their public announcements. This is a public service announcement from Penang Watch.

Connection to RPK's

Connection to RPK's Malaysia-today was slow this morning, according to MerdekaReview, because TM was reducing flow through Singapore. But it was said to be a technical issue.

I had no disconnection at Tg Bunga, but connection was slow, even to www.google.com's simple starting page. The tardiness came and go.

I was not able to connect to PenangWatch.net, which means its Web server whereever it was this morning. But OK now.

For those in Penang, change

For those in Penang, change your Streamyx to Penangfon. Feels 10 times faster and for less money. I dumped my Streamyx and never regretted it. And no traffic shaping yet! I'm now a happy camper!

I do come across the same

I do come across the same problem two weeks ago and now it's still the same 'flip-flop' like the last state Government! The line is not stable and the connection is slow like tortoise! I reaffirm that connection to Malaysia-Today is particularly slow today and I wonder if Rosmah is commanding her hackers to do the espionage job?!

How I wish Wawasan 2020 can still be the dream and by then, we can do away all these shits of backwardness! It is another hope again.......

There is no Penangfon

There is no Penangfon option in most part of Penang yet-certainly not in Weld Quay/KOMTAR area. It is a pity.

I have a feeling my

I have a feeling my phobia/paranoia/over-sensitive as stated in my blog is really true.
Maybe there is no such server migration, maybe there is no such limit cap...maybe the truth is simple enough....they are watching us, all our connections are being squeezed into a monitoring station.

My apartment has contacted

My apartment has contacted PenangFon. They responded initially. Then all quiet. There's also report that an apartment which shares the connection will slow down if one of the users decides to do DVD downloading. There was some annoyed users elsewhere. Not sure if true, smearing campaign, or early glitch.

KL stock exchange this

KL stock exchange this morning also stopped trading for technical problem. What's going on with this country's informational structure? Has NEP and corruption's cumulated destruction to the system finally caught up with the daily life? But are we going to see breakdowns of our system here and there, everywhere, now and then? We have taken transport suffocation and government computer crashes as granted. What's next, electricity again? Wholesale crash of government computers, traffic lights, airport and port systems, telecom, banking communication?
